Ridge stopped in a warehouse aisle with its arm folded, about a metre from a worker in a hi-vis vest who is checking a clipboard

The safety page your safety officer is looking for.

Certifications, behaviours, stops and logs. Written for the person who has to sign it off.

Four rules it cannot talk itself out of.

Each one is a safety function with a performance level behind it, not a preference in a config file. None of them can be turned off from the tablet.

3.1

Slow zone

3

m

Ridge drops to walking pace the moment a person is inside three metres.

Safety laser scanner, PL d

3.2

Stop zone

1

m

Inside one metre it stops, and it does not resume until the aisle is clear.

Dual-channel protective stop, PL d

3.3

Forklift yield

5

m

It gives way to a forklift at five metres and holds until the aisle clears.

Vision and lidar classification

3.4

Arm speed

250

mm/s

Within two metres of a person the arm is capped, whatever the task asks for.

Safe monitored speed, PL d

Three ways to stop it. None of them need a laptop.

One on the machine, one on the wall, one in the software. The first two are emergency stops. The third is not, and we say so.

01

The ring on the unit

Four red buttons on the bumper band, one at each corner. Press any of them.

03

One control in the software, for clearing a floor. A controlled stop, not an emergency stop.

Every stop, with its reason, in a file you can export.
